Trial Mountain Bikes

Trial mountain bikes are designed for downhill moutnain biking, but are used more commonly for stunt downhill purposes. Trial mountain bikes have little if any suspension travel, and are equpped with much smaller wheels than the traditional downhill mountain bike: the standard downhill mountain bike will be equipped with wheels 26 to 29 inches in diamer, while a trial mountain bike will only have wheels 20 to 24 inches in diameter. The reduces wheel size puts the rider closer to the ground, demanding that balance be the primary quality the rider focuses on. Trial mountain bikes are also much lighter than the standard downhill mountain bike - between 15-30 pounds - to make them more easily maneuverable down hardcore mountain bike trails.
